Links also drive my website.
Each page has two banks of links on the right side of the page. The top bank is for internal links, but the bottom bank is devoted to the nebulous catagory that is "external links". (A couple pages have the "Project Wonderful" box inserted, but most don't.)
I used to have this high and mighty idea that I'd have a big to-do about keeping the external links I place on each page pure and hand picked, but then realized that it might be more high maintenance than I can handle. Instead, I installed an iframe with 20 or so random links in it.
I have about 1000 bookmarks, and I'm slowly working on integrating them into the linkbox. Sometimes it seems futile to try to keep a hold on interests that fly in so many directions, and to read everything that crosses my screen, or even just everything that I dog-ear. But I try.
For a more controlled kind of linky-loo-ing, the blogs I subscribe to are listed on the updates page, and there's also a linkshare blog on which I toss back the especially awesome internets.
